FeelGooder Asks: What Do You Want This Year?

FeelGooder has been online for a couple of months now, and since it’s also the start of a brand new year (and decade!) I thought I’d ask you:

What’s one thing you want to feel better about this year?

…and how can FeelGooder help?

I’d like to feel better about my seat-of-the-pants, off-the-cuff, swings-and-roundabouts-style financial state in 2011.

It’s not that my finances are a shambles; it’s more that I never seem to know what’s coming, so my income and expenditure is all a bit random, which makes saving something of a challenge.

Wanting to get on top of it, and to know where I’m heading financially, seems a lot like an idle dream right now, but I’m pretty sure the good people in the FeelGooder community have a wealth (haha!) of experience and advice to share on finance, planning, and managing money.

What do you want to feel better about in 2011?

  1. I’m in the same boat Georgina… my income is random and even though I have a lot of money, I still get anxious sometimes about where it’s going to come from in the future! I know I just need to become more present, because getting worried about a problem that doesn’t exist is a waste of time. So in 2011 I want to release fear… 🙂

  2. I have cowed to finally let go of the fears of, “what if?”, and take my first step towards my dream calling! I will finally sign up for a seminar or two at Bastyr University and begin my journey to become a birth/postpartum Doula.

Thanks for giving us a place to share!

    • That’s awesome, Emily! I had thought of doing that once upon a time, but now I have had the pleasure of being there thru 6 deliveries of my daughter, and the tough labor of my sone’s 18 year old girlfriend (that one ended in C-section). Those are hard enough for me!
Congrats on reaching out to your calling!

  3. Hi Georgina,

I think everyone is having a review of their lives at the moment and thinking what they can improve, it’s such an optimistic time of year!

Mine is similar to yours in geting my finances in some sort of order, and I’m doing it by trying to live more simply and consciously, cutting out the luxurys and keeping only the necessities. People have got ridiculously greedy and I don’t like the feeling that I’m part of all that!

Bets of luck with sorting your finances out

  4. I want to feel gooder about my career path. I want to have more of a plan in place instead of just seeing what develops.

  6. Money Honey! LOL Unfortunately my finances ARE in shambles. I won’t to know what if feels like to walk in a store and know that you can by whatever you want despite cost. I want to know what it’s like to OWN everything and OWE no one anything. That’s what I want this year.

  7. I hope that I can take my blog/business to the next level. I am creating my first e-book and will also be doing online workshops and coaching as well, a little later in the year. I am a little nervous about it, but I am just stepping out and doing it!

  9. For 2011, I’ve got my eye set on finally financing and ultimately finishing my Literature degree. I’ve been out of school since December 2009 to take care of my baby girl and now that she’s about to turn 1 year old this coming March, I can finally take some time to go to class haha!

Other than that, I hope to increase my blog’s traffic and readership, improve my copywriting skills, find more great clients, and to earn enough to support my family’s needs throughout the year.

  10. I’ve hit a major wall in my career – a wall that I may not be physically or emotionally capable of scaling. It’s decision time: tolerate where I am, move laterally, or change fields altogether. I’ve been blogging some of my thoughts; it helps me clarify my own ideas and gains input from commenters.
